Jesus is the Reason for the Season

{encouragement} Relish on the free gift of life, eternal life through Christ.

Romans 5:17 For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

Wow, today is the last day of 2013 and I haven't been good at blogging lately so my own encouragement to myself is to document the important moments. In the month of December, there were Christmas programs, Christmas parties, some date night opportunities, a family trip to San Francisco, fun with family and friends and of course food and fat galore! But I really should start with saying how thankful I am for God. He gave His Son to be our Savior so that we can be redeemed and have our sins atoned for in order to have a unified relationship with Him.  God gave His Son Jesus to be with humanity because our sins were so wrong we couldn't find Him alone, we needed a perfect mediator. From this link I found here, we can be of good cheer and full of hope because Jesus came to save us.  The number one reason why Jesus is the reason for the season is that He is the ultimate gift to the world (Romans 5:15).

On that same note, the girls were able to perform some Christmas songs to Jesus. Hopefully one day KariAnne and Babester will be looking at this blog and reminiscing on the fun times they had as little ones.

There's my little 4 year old darling KariAnne. So proud of her. Not only did she memorize her words and hand motions but she taught Babester as well.

Here is Brianna {2 years 10 months} in Mrs. Cilderman's class, front and center singing "Happy Birthday to Jesus." Please pardon my background voice, it's a proud mama talking and singing along.

Christmas in San Francisco....
12-25-2013

I have so many wonderful pictures to share from our family trip to San Francisco but just had to share these very special ones with my Por Por (Grandma from Mom's side). She'll be 90 years old next June.  She was the one who took care of me as a baby, taught me how to speak Cantonese, walked me to preschool, took time to play with bugs on the street, gave me dollar bills even before I knew about the concept of money, and spoil me with her grandmammy love.  It was such special moments when my daughters got to spend some bonding time with their Great Grandma.  They got to hug her, help her with her walker, make some crafts for her, perform their Christmas program songs and even got to spend Christmas Day with her. They have never been around someone so old. So when we were walking slowly I had to explain to them that just like babies, grandmas need a lot of patience and help.

After eating lunch Babester decided to just sit right next to Por Por and snuggle up. It was such a precious moment.

KariAnne was showing some love too :)

Love pictures of my hubby with my loved ones

I used to be the one she would help with the walking

One thing I really treasured about our time in San Francisco is that we just did the everyday living, but with our dear friends.  We don't have to do the grand spectacles or touristy traps to have fun, it's just about the company and spending some quality time with my besties and loved ones :)
Having our starter meal of "jook" (rice porridge) before our actual lunch.  Yep, that's what we do when we vacay.... eat to eat!

Mango pudding with sago and fruit assortment
I'm really basic and simple when it comes to food.  No need for fancy schmancy stuff. This is a HK style Ham and Egg Sandwich that I was craving.  Seriously, simple but oh so yummy!
Egg Custard aka. "Dan Tat" The best in San Francisco!
Mango Ice Cream Sampler with Fruit Assortment and Sago in Coconut Milk from Golden Island Cafe on Noriega and 21st, SF. IT was an awesome place for our girls night out :)

The girls just being girls. Hanging on 3rd street and Clement.

Christmas Dinner with the Tams! at some Beijing restaurant on Noriega since Cafe Bakery was busy.

My dear Kwan Yee (Aunty on my Mom's side).  I used to visit her at this same house when I was just a little one...now Ibusy was able to bring my little ones here to play!

There are so many more pictures and moments I could share!  All in all, this year of 2013 which is now going to be a thing of the past has been filled with many teaching moments of God's love, God's grace, His undeserving merit and favor, and His saving power.  I am so thankful for the many blessings He has given to me in my life that are so undeserving.  Thank you Lord for who you are!

Happy New Year to All!  Let's see what 2014 has in store for us!
